The Everpure OWL-200L is a replacement water filter cartridge for drinking water. It is designed to remove chlorine, bad tastes, odors, lead and total trihalomethane, asbestos, submicron particles, cyst, and scale. This water filter is rated at .5 microns, so it can remove all particles that are .5 microns or larger. The water flows into the top of the filter cartridge and into the filter chamber. This filter chamber features a filter membrane that is coated with Micro-Pure. Micro-Pure is a blend of activated carbon that absorbs off-tastes, bad odors, and chlorine to provide delicious and healthy drinking water. After the water flows through the filter membrane, it is channeled up and out of the water filtration system.
This water filter cartridge has a capacity of 480 gallons and a maximum flow rate of .5 gpm. When replacing your water filter, be sure that you allow a 2 1/2 inch clearance below for easy replacement. In addition, you should flush your new water filter cartridge with the water on high flow. Be sure that your replace your water filter every 6 months or when the pressure drops below 10 psi. If you do not replace your water filter, the filter may become clogged and water will not flow through it. Or, the water may channel through the filter but not get filtered. Another thing that sometimes happens when water filters are not changed is that they dump carbon sludge and other contaminates back into the water.
