This sandwich press is the light duty Vollrath 40790. It measures 14 inches in width, 19 inches in length, and 13 inches in height. This commercial sandwich press has a 13 inch by 14 inches cast aluminum lower grill that is ribbed, and the upper grill is also ribbed and has adjustable hinges for a variety of food thickness. Both plates are non-stick so the need for aluminum foil and seasoning is eliminated. This restaurant griddle can make not only make sandwiches though; when the plate is left up, this press becomes a grill for steaks, chicken, and burgers too. To prevent burns there is a heat resistant handle and for easy clean up there is a drip cup that catches excess grease. For extra safety, there is a pilot light on this electric griddle that lights up when the plates are on. The heating system inside of this restaurant grill is thermostatically controlled up to 570ºF and the plates are designed to ensure maximum heat transfer and superior heat distribution.

To prevent the possibility of rust and pitting on your electric griddle, you should wipe the stainless steel with a soft cloth and a non-chloride cleaner, because hard water and food deposits can cause rust if they are not cleaned off.
