It is designed to grill sandwiches uniformly on both sides and the top plate is adjustable for a wide variety of food thickness. The body of this griddle is stainless steel and the grilling plates are made from aluminum. It is possible to cook steaks, burgers, chicken and other foods on this sandwich press because you can leave the top plate up and it becomes a regular grill. The grilling plates on this commercial grill are 13 inches by 14 inches and they are perfect for toasting Cuban, Italian, and English sandwiches. This flat plate sandwich press measures 14 inches in width, 19 inches in length, and 13 inches in height and comes with a drip cup to catch excess grease.
