Description
The 67608 is one of Vollrath's many frying pans, and it is made from 3004 aluminum that is heavy duty and impact-resistant. It is coated with SteelCoat X3, which is three bonded layers of premium non-stick coating. This non-stick coating is applied by a curtain-coating system that provides a life of at least 380,000 cycles, compared to the top competitor whose fry pans have a life of only 110,000 cycles. This perfect coverage of non-stick coating ensures longer pan life, better food release, easier cleaning, and lower replacement costs. In addition to the non-stick coating, this commercial fry pan features a GatorGrip handle, which is a permanently bonded, rubber handle that eliminates food traps and makes cleaning much easier. This handle makes storage easy because it has a large hanging loop.
This aluminum fry pan has sloped sides to prevent steam from forming in the pan, and the curved side walls proved easy stirring and sliding of foods. It is 8 inches in diameter on top, 5 3/4 inches in diameter on bottom, and 1 7/8 inches in height. Another excellent feature of this non-stick frying pan is the fact that it is oven safe in temperatures up to 450?F. The rivets are low-profile as well, and they are coated for even easier cleaning. Before using your GatorGrip fry pan, remove all the labels and stickers and wash the pan in hot soapy water. It is a good idea to use only plastic, wooden, or rubber utensils when cooking. To prevent your cookware from warping, let it cool before cleaning it. Because salt solutions, bleaches, disinfectants, and acidic products like tomatoes can cause corrosion, avoid prolonged exposure to these things and never store them in your cookware.
Every time that you purchase a new piece of cookware, you should season it before it is used regularly. First, apply vegetable oil or a small amount of shortening to your aluminum fry pan. Allow the pan to be heated on medium for 5-10 minutes or until light heat waves or smoke appear. The oil/shortening should become a deep amber color. After the oil/shortening cools, dump it out and wipe the pan down with a paper towel. Clean your non-stick fry pan with warm water and soap, and it is ready for regular use. Here's a special tip from us: if your Vollrath aluminum cookware is discolored, you can remove the discoloration by boiling two tablespoons of cream of tartar and a quart of water for 10 minutes.
