The Vollrath 67607 is an aluminum fry pan that has a non-stick interior. The body is made from 3004 aluminum and the handle is a GatorGrip handle. It is permanently bonded, black, rubber handle that will never slide off, and it eliminates food traps and makes cleaning a whole lot easier. To provide you with longer pan life, better food release, faster clean up, and lower replacement costs, this aluminum fry pan is coated with SteelCoat X3, which a triple layer of non-stick coating. This no-stick coating is applied with a curtain-coating system that ensures perfectly even coverage, and it provides for longer life. The low profile rivets on the frying pan are also coated for even easier cleaning. The competitors' spray non-stick coating provides uneven coverage and only lasts 110,000 cycles. Vollrath's non-stick coating, which has been through rigorous testing, lasts 380,000 cycles!
This non-stick fry pan has curved side walls for easy stirring and sliding of foods. In addition, the sloped sides of the pan prevent steam from forming inside of the pan. It is a very good idea to season your GatorGrip fry pan before your start using it. You can do this by applying a small amount of vegetable oil or shortening into the cookware and placing it on a burner that is set on medium heat. Allow the pan to heat on the burner for 5-10 minutes, or until the oil/shortening turns a deep amber color. Then, remove the pan and allow the oil/shortening to cool. After it is cool, remove the oil/shortening by dumping it out and wiping the pan with a paper towel. Lastly, wash your non-stick fry pan with warm soapy water and it is ready to be used.
Before you cook with your commercial frying pan, remove all stickers and labels. If all the adhesive cannot be removed with hot soapy water, WD-40 may be used. Always cook with plastic, rubber, or wooden utensils and never leave fry pans, or any cookware, on a heated surface without foods or liquid inside. To prevent your Vollrath fry pan from warping, let it cool before washing it. Your cookware will continue looking new and it will last longer if it is hand washed every time. Here is one last tip: if your aluminum cookware is discolored, you can remove the discoloration by boil water and cream of tartar in the cookware for ten minutes. Add two tablespoons of cream of tartar for every quart of water that is used.
