Installation
Ice machines require a cold water supply, a source of power, and a drain in order to operate effectively. With remote ice machines, additional installation will be required to bring the refrigeration lines from the ice machine's outdoor condenser, back into your building.
Under Counter Ice Machines
Under counter ice machines typically discharge air through the front of the unit. This allows you to install the ice machine adjacent to existing under counter equipment without needing left and right clearance. Be aware that most under counter ice machines still require a floor drain.
Ice Machine Maintenance
Make sure that you keep your ice machine clean and that you change the water filters regularly. By keeping a routine maintenance schedule on your ice machine, you will be able to prolong it's overall life. Some of the most common service calls on ice machines can be prevented by simply keeping up with your ice machine maintenance.
Ice Machine Bins
We offer ice machines as single ice making units or coupled with an ice bin. If you are purchasing an ice machine and ice bin separately, check to see if they are of a compatible width. If you require a 48'' bin but your ice maker is 30'' in width, then you will need to also purchase and adapter kit which will allow you to mount the two together.
Types of Ice
Commercial ice makers offer a variety of ice shapes and types and normally vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. In general you will always find 3 types of ice: cube ice, flake or crushed ice, and nugget ice which is particularly popular when used with fountain drinks. Knowing what type of ice your operation will require will help you in making the right ice machine purchase. Please refer to our Ice Machine Buying Guide for additional information on the difference forms of ice and how they can benefit you.
