Setting up your restaurant's table layout can be a complicated process without the appropriate input. Always know how your tables are going to be arranged before you make your purchase. Be aware of tight corners and spaces where clearances can be a concern. You must also remember when laying out your tables to measure your clearance from the distance of a chair edge flush with the table edge. This is typically 10" to 18" away from the edge of a table. The reason for that is because you want to assume clearance for a person sitting down and getting up and pushing there chair back. ADAA clearance require a minimum of 3' in areas that serve as pathways to an emergency egress. A 36" top plus its chair with a 16" seat will actually give you an overall foot print of 64" (36" plus 2 chairs across from each other at 16" away from the table edge). This can be a big problem later on when the size of the chairs was not calculated with the size of the table when considering clearances.
