Description
The Vollrath brand 67910 is an aluminum frying pan that is perfect for making any meal of the day and almost any type of food, from eggs, bacon, pancakes, and hash browns to fish, chicken, and vegetables. This fry pan has a permanently attached silicone rubber black handle that features a large hanging loop for easy storage. It is oven safe up to 450?F and is also NSF approved. The USA made aluminum fry pan measures 2 1/8 inches in height and the top is 10 inches in diameter while the bottom is 7 5/8 inches in diameter. The body of this GatorGrip fry pan is made from 3004 aluminum, which is heavy duty and impact resistant. The side walls of this Vollrath fry pan are curved for ease of stirring and sliding food out of the pan, and the sides are sloped to prevent steam from forming in the pan. Before using this fry pan, as with any cookware, be sure that you remove the labels and wash the pan with hot soapy water. Also, make sure that you season the pan.
You can season your commercial cookware by spraying the inside with vegetable oil or applying a little bit of shortening. Allow the pan to sit on a burner that is set on medium heat for about 5-10 minutes or until light smoke or heat waves appear. The oil/shortening should turn a deep amber and that is when you know to remove the pan from the burner. Allow the oil/shortening to cool and the dump out the oil/shortening or wipe it out with a paper towel. Your cookware is now seasoned and ready for regular use. Don't forget that you should hand wash your aluminum fry pan after every use to keep it in its excellent shape. But, allow the pan to cool before cleaning it to prevent the possibility of warping. When cooking with your commercial cookware, always use plastic, wooden, or rubber utensils, never metal ones. In addition, never leaver your cookware on a heated surface if there are no food products or liquids inside of it. Lastly, you can remove discoloration from aluminum cookware by boiling a solution of cream of tartar and water for ten minutes. Apply two tablespoons of cream of tartar for every quart of water.
