This Classic sauce pot is the Vollrath 67434. It is constructed from 6 gauge 3004 aluminum, which is impact resistant and energy efficient, and it has a natural finish. The handles are also made from aluminum, and they are plated, welded, and looped to make moving and pouring from this 34 quart sauce pot very easy. Heat is spread evenly along the base and the side walls of this aluminum pot, and the rim is beadless for easy cleaning. To provide superior cover fit, the double thick rim remains round. The bottom of this Vollrath sauce pot is also double thick to prevent dents. This NSF approved pot measures 16 inches in diameter and 10 inches in depth. Because this Classic pot has a wide diameter and lower sides, it is perfect for making soups, stews, and sauces, and it is also excellent for reducing liquids. Don?t forget to order your flat lids and dome shaped covers as well!
Always wash your commercial cookware, not just your aluminum sauce pots, by hand with hot soapy water. Hand washed pots and pans last longer and keep their regal appearance longer. Never leave any pieces of cookware on a heated surface without food or liquid inside of them and we recommend that you use only plastic, wooden, or rubber utensils when cooking. For your safety and to prevent your pots from warping, allow them to cool before washing them. Direct contact with salt can lead to pitting on Vollrath cookware, so add salt to boiling water to dissolve it. Also, salt solutions, disinfectants, bleaches, and acidic products such as tomatoes can cause corrosion to cookware. Never store these things inside of your pots or pans and avoid prolonged exposure when possible. Before cooking with your new Vollrath aluminum sauce pot, remove all the labels and the label adhesive. If you cannot remove all the adhesive, WD-40 can help. Then wash your cookware in hot soapy water and season your cookware.
You can season your cookware in just a few minutes and it truly makes a difference in your post and pans. Apply vegetable oil or a small amount of shortening to the inside of your pan and place it on a medium burner for 5-10 minutes. When light heat waves or smoke appear, remove the pot from the burner and allow the oil/shortening to cool. When the oil/shortening is cool, dump it out into the trash and wipe the sauce pot with a paper towel to remove the excess oil/shortening. Lastly, wash the aluminum pot one more time in hot soapy water. You can season your cookware as mush as you want without ruining it.
