This commercial chef base is the True TRCB-79. Its refrigeration system uses CFC free 134A refrigerant to maintain a cabinet temperature of 33ºF to 38ºF. The guided airflow provides uniform product temperatures and the large evaporator is 20%-40% larger than factory standards. The oversized evaporator coil is balanced with a higher horsepower compressor to provide shorter run times and a larger condenser which dissipates heat faster for a more efficient refrigeration cycle. There is a sealed, cast iron, self-lubricating evaporator fan motor that has large fan blades to give this refrigerated equipment stand a low velocity, high volume airflow design. The condensing unit is easily accessible from behind the front grill and slides out for easy maintenance. Every thirty days the condenser coil and the fan blades must be cleaned with a stiff bristle brush because a dirty condenser can lead to compressor failure.
This True refrigerated chef base is 79 1/4 inches in length, 30 1/2 inches in depth, and 20 1/2 inches in height. The 7 foot cord that is included can fit into a 115 volt, NEMA configured outlet. The exterior front, top, and cabinet ends are all stainless steel and the top is one piece of 300 series stainless steel. It can support 1084 pounds and has a drip resistant “V” edge to protect against spills. The plate castors on this restaurant chef base have a width of 4 inches in diameter and locks are provided on the front set. The interior is white aluminum which is NSF approved and the interior floor is 300 series stainless steel with coved corners. The whole cabinet is foamed-in-place with high density, CFC free, polyurethane insulation. The cabinet of this True refrigerated chef base has four drawers. Each drawer can hold two full sized food pans that measure 12 inches in length, 20 inches in width, and 4 inches in depth and also comes with a full length, removable divider bar.
There are some special features on this industrial chef base, such as an epoxy coated evaporator, an exterior mounted digital temperature monitor, and the fact that it is NSF-7 compliant for open food products. Also, there is a one year warranty on all parts and labor and a five year warranty on the compressor. Just a reminder: the condenser coil and the fan blades must be cleaned every thirty days to lower electrical costs. Also, when cleaning the food and water deposits off the stainless steel never use cleaners that contain chloride or quaternary salts because they cause rust and pitting.
